These Maca Buddha Bites combine ground nuts, toasted oats, dates, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and Maca powder into a rich no-bake snack that is easy to keep on hand for hiking, after a workout, or whenever you want something substantial.

Maca Buddha Bites
Rich no-bake bites made with almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, oats, dates, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and Maca powder.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup ground almonds
- 1/4 cup ground cashews
- 1/4 cup ground pecans
- 1/4 cup ground walnuts
- 1/4 cup toasted oats, gluten-free if desired
- 1/4 cup minced dates
- 1/4 cup melted dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup Maca powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean or pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt or Celtic salt
- A small amount of coconut oil or ghee, as needed to help the mixture hold together
Optional Add-Ins
- Guduchi, a pinch
- Ashwagandha, a pinch
- Brahmi or Bacopa, a pinch
- Shatavari, a pinch
- Chyawanprash Rasayana, a small amount
- Camu camu or Triphala, a pinch
- Coconut nectar, to taste
- Honey, agave, or maple syrup, to taste
Instructions
- Combine the ground almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, toasted oats, dates, chocolate, cocoa powder, Maca powder, vanilla, and salt.
- Add a small amount of coconut oil or ghee and blend or mix until the ingredients begin to hold together naturally.
- Add any optional ingredients you would like to use and mix again.
- Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls with your hands.
- Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
- Store refrigerated and enjoy within about 10 days, or freeze for longer storage.
Make them your own: Deanna notes that this recipe has evolved over many years and that she sometimes adjusts the ingredients by feel rather than measuring precisely. Add just enough coconut oil or ghee for the mixture to mold easily into balls.
