Our organic maca capsules are made for people who want the convenience of maca root in a simple, portable form without mixing powder or tasting maca’s distinctive flavor.
Each capsule contains 750 mg of pure maca powder inside a vegan vegetable-cellulose capsule. We do not use fillers, flow agents, anti-caking agents or unnecessary additives.
We also fill our maca capsules in-house rather than sending them to a large contract packing facility. This gives us direct control over the maca powder that goes into each capsule and allows us to offer an unusually broad selection of colors and processing styles.
Choose from black, red, yellow and traditional Tri-Color Maca, with raw, gelatinized and selected Premium preparations available.

With several colors and processing styles available, choosing maca capsules is easier if you make one decision at a time.
The first choice is how the maca has been processed.
Raw maca remains below 105°F / 40°C during processing and retains more of the maca root’s natural starch. Raw maca capsules are often preferred by people with normal to strong digestion who want maca in its raw, non-gelatinized form.
Gelatinized maca is pre-cooked at about 160°F / 70°C to remove most of its natural starch. This makes gelatinized maca capsules easier for many people to digest than raw maca.
If digestion is a major consideration, see our Best Maca for Sensitive Digestion guide.
Next, choose between a single maca color or our traditional Tri-Color blend.
Choose Black Maca if you specifically want maca made from black maca roots. Our Black Maca collection includes multiple processing styles and formats.
Choose Red Maca if you specifically want maca made from red maca roots. Raw, gelatinized and selected Premium preparations are available.
Choose Yellow Maca if you prefer maca made from yellow maca roots. Yellow Maca is available in both raw and gelatinized preparations.
Our Tri-Color Maca is a traditional Heritage Harvest blend made from approximately 40% yellow, 30% red and 30% black maca roots. It is a practical choice for people who want all three primary maca colors together.
For a detailed comparison of maca colors, see our Black vs. Red vs. Yellow Maca guide.
Some of our maca capsule varieties are also available in Premium preparations.
Our standard maca follows the traditional Peruvian approach of drying harvested maca roots naturally in the Andean sun. Our Premium Maca is fresh processed shortly after harvest using low-temperature dehydrators.
Premium processing produces a lighter-colored maca with a stronger, spicier flavor profile and glucosinolate levels standardized above 1%. Premium options are available in selected maca colors and Tri-Color blends.

People searching for the best maca root supplement, best maca supplement, or best maca capsules are often comparing the same basic things: what is actually inside the product, where the maca comes from, how it was processed, and how transparent the company is about quality.
There is no single maca supplement that is automatically best for everyone. The best maca root capsules for you depend on your digestion, preferred maca color, processing preference and how you plan to use them.
When comparing maca capsules or maca root pills, look for products that clearly identify:
The phrase best maca root pills is often used by shoppers looking for maca in a convenient supplement format. In practice, many products sold as maca pills are capsules, while others are compressed tablets.
We prefer capsules because they allow us to place pure maca powder inside a simple vegan shell without using the binding ingredients that may be required to manufacture tablets.
If you are unsure which maca capsules fit you best, our Which Maca Is Best? guide walks through color, processing and digestion considerations in more detail.
Maca capsules are capsules filled with maca root powder. They provide the same basic maca format as loose powder, but inside a convenient capsule shell.
Our maca capsules contain pure maca powder inside a vegetable-cellulose capsule. Nothing needs to be mixed into food or drinks, making capsules especially convenient for travel, work and daily routines.
People often use the terms maca capsules, maca root capsules, maca pills and maca root pills interchangeably.
Technically, however, a pill may also refer to a compressed tablet. Tablets can require binders or other ingredients to hold their shape.
Our products are capsules rather than compressed tablets. The vegetable-cellulose shell simply holds pure maca powder inside.

When capsules contain nothing but pure maca powder, the main difference between maca capsules and maca powder is the format rather than the maca itself.
Many customers use both formats—for example, powder at home and capsules when traveling or away from the kitchen.
Explore our Organic Maca Powder collection if you want to compare the two formats.
Maca capsules may be especially convenient if:
Each of our maca capsules contains 750 mg of maca powder, making it easy to adjust the amount you use by capsule count.
If you are new to maca, we generally recommend beginning gradually rather than immediately using a large amount. Your preferred amount can depend on your experience with maca, the specific product and your individual routine.
For more detailed guidance, see our How to Start With Maca, Maca Dosage, and When to Take Maca guides.
Many supplement companies send powdered ingredients to large outside facilities for encapsulation. We chose a different approach.
We fill our maca capsules ourselves so we can maintain direct control over the powder being used, capsule inventory and production.
This also allows us to offer a much broader capsule selection than would be practical if every variety had to be produced in large outsourced manufacturing runs.
As a result, we can offer maca capsules across multiple colors and processing styles while keeping the ingredient list exceptionally simple: pure maca powder inside a vegan capsule.
Maca capsules are capsules filled with maca root powder. They offer a convenient alternative to measuring and mixing loose maca powder.
The terms are often used interchangeably. However, some products described as maca pills are compressed tablets, which may require additional binding ingredients. Our products are capsules filled with pure maca powder.
Each of our maca capsules contains 750 mg of maca powder.
No. Our maca capsules contain pure maca powder with no fillers, flow agents, anti-caking agents or unnecessary additives.
Yes. The capsule shells are made from vegetable cellulose and are 100% vegan.
Our maca capsules are made with certified organic Peruvian maca powder.
The best maca capsules depend on your individual preferences. Look at ingredient purity, Peruvian origin, organic certification, testing, maca color, raw vs. gelatinized processing and whether the capsule contains unnecessary additives.
Look for clearly identified Peruvian maca, transparent processing information, organic certification, simple ingredients, stated amounts per serving, independent testing and sourcing information you can verify.
Raw maca remains below 105°F / 40°C during processing and retains more of the root’s natural starch. Gelatinized maca is pre-cooked at about 160°F / 70°C to remove most of that starch and is easier for many people to digest.
When a capsule contains pure maca powder, the main difference is convenience and format. Capsules eliminate measuring and maca flavor, while loose powder is generally more economical and easier to use in food and drinks.
Many people with sensitive digestion prefer gelatinized maca capsules because most of the maca root’s natural starch has been removed during pre-cooking.
Yes. Some people use powder at home and capsules when traveling or when convenience is more important. They are simply different ways of using maca.
There is no single amount that is appropriate for everyone. Each of our capsules contains 750 mg of maca powder. See our Maca Dosage guide for more detailed serving guidance.
Our maca is grown in Peru, and we fill our capsules in-house so we can maintain close control over ingredients, freshness and production.
