THE MACA TEAM
Black maca liquid extract is a concentrated extract made from black maca roots (Lepidium meyenii) grown in the high Andes of Peru and extracted into a vegetable glycerin base. This liquid format provides a convenient way to use maca without mixing powders into food or beverages.
Our black maca liquid extract contains just two ingredients: organic black maca root and vegetable glycerin derived from coconut palms. Both ingredients are carefully sourced and processed to create a clean, alcohol-free extract that is easy to take and simple to incorporate into a daily routine.
The result is a smooth tasting liquid extract that can be taken directly by dropper or added to a small amount of liquid.
Some customers choose to use maca extracts on their own, while others combine them with maca powders or capsules. Either approach can work depending on personal preference.
Powder is commonly mixed into smoothies, drinks, or recipes, while extracts are often chosen for portability and ease of use.
Our extracts begin with high-quality black maca root chips harvested by traditional farming cooperatives in the high Andes of Peru. These roots are carefully selected before being processed using vegetable glycerin rather than alcohol.
This glycerin-based extraction method creates a smooth tasting liquid extract that is alcohol-free and easy to use.
The Maca Team is also one of the few companies offering multiple colors of maca in extract form. You can view the full selection on our maca liquid extracts page.
Black maca is one of the three primary colors of maca root, along with red and yellow. Many customers choose black maca for its robust flavor and traditional use.
To learn more about this maca variety, visit our guide to black maca.
The Maca Team focuses exclusively on high-quality Peruvian maca. We work directly with growers and producers in Peru to support careful sourcing, traditional agriculture, and consistent product quality.
Our products are selected according to sourcing and processing guidelines that emphasize purity, traditional cultivation, and transparency. You can learn more about these practices on our Our Standards page.
If you would like to learn more about our company and why we focus exclusively on maca, visit our Our Company page.
Maca liquid extracts typically keep well for up to three years when stored properly.
Take about 1/4 teaspoon (2 droppersful) under the tongue or mixed into a beverage up to three times daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We are always happy to help.

We love maca! My husband uses black and I use premium. Extract great for travel. Keep it in my purse. We do prefer the raw powder but this was great on vacation! Maca team provides the best maca!

My 25 yr old son is in college and even though he eats right, does not drink alcohol, does not eat HFCS or GMO food or junk food he was still overweight for his height 6’4″. Since starting Black Maca extract his physique is noticeable slimmer after just one month! He sleeps better, eats less because he is not hungry and has energy to burn!

The Liquid Maca is so convenient. I’m always busy and out and about so to be able to take Maca this way is the best! I actually like the taste of the liquid extract too. I like to take it before and after my workouts. I’ve noticed an increase in energy and strength, and quicker recovery. Not to mention my sex drive has sky rocketed. And finally have a regular menstrual cycle. I’m a female but I actually prefer the black maca over the red.
james wright –
I like your extract and just wish it came in a larger size. I’m interested in trying the Black Maca Powder as well so I can compare it with the extract and see which form I prefer.

The convenience of the extract is great. Its a premium value for a Non US resident due to low shipping costs. I have noticed mental clarity, quicker recovery time after exercise and a general
strenthening of my body.. My energy level seems more consistent throughout the day and I have sounder sleep.. My general sense of well being is better.I know over time more good changes will come. Thanks for a great product.

I’ve been dealing with recurring health challenges for many years and began to notice a pattern that seemed connected to my monthly cycle. Because of that, I explored various natural approaches over time, including different supplements. Some seemed to help at times, but the results were inconsistent.
More recently, I heard about maca root and its potential to support overall balance. I used it consistently for two months and noticed a very positive change in how I was feeling during that time.
After running out, I had difficulty finding it locally, so I searched online and found The Maca Team. I was impressed by their variety and pricing, so I ordered the Black Maca Root Tincture. It arrived quickly, and after starting again, I’ve continued to feel good maintaining a consistent routine.
I’m very encouraged by my experience and have already ordered the Premium Tincture and a pound of Premium Powder. I plan to be a regular customer from here on out. Thank you, Maca Team!

Great for slow gains that stick. Tried Apetamin, and though I gained 10 lbs in one week, it was water weight that didn’t stick the minute I stopped taking it. Gained about 3 lbs in 3 weeks but it’s actually noticeable and is sticking.

I have previously used the black maca capsules and decided to try the liquid version. On the plus side, the liquid has a pleasant taste and is easy to use. However, it seems to me that the powder is more effective.
Raj (verified owner) –

This is the first time I’ve used a liquid extract this brand is very energizing
Anonymous (verified owner) –
I’ve been taking maca supplements for 4 year and I haven’t found a brand, varietal of maca and form factor that really worked for me as well as the Black Maca root extract from The Maca Team. The bioavailability of maca root (or any supplement/adaptogen) is greater in extract form, so this is great. Noticeable libido boost, so no complaints there! Highly recommend

Instantly dissolves in blood stream and it’s efficacy is strong.Does it’s job perfectly.
Jewel (verified owner) –
It helps with energy, especially at that 2pm time!
Jarrett (verified owner) –
Highly commend this product, aka recommend : )
Walt (verified owner) –
I don’t know if i used it right. I got a headache when I used the recommended dosage, which doesn’t happen with the caps. I don’t know if I am taking it right I can only hold it under the tongue for so long. I can’t really tell if it works, which is a surprise because I owe a lot of daily energy and mood to the raw capsules which are great. Sad not to see it on Amazon but they are not great to small business so glad Maca team is around.
Samuel Williams (verified owner) –
I really LOVE the Maca Team’s Blk Maca product. It’s an extremely good product and hits all all the perfect marks for performance. I’ll definitely be back for more.
Basil Pinto (verified owner) –
GREAT STUFF. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

No results!!
Taansen Sumeru (verified owner) –
Produces a fabulous and wonderfully natural feeling of well being, but only when I take as much as 1/2 to a whole bottle per day. I have been asking for a couple of years if you would please sell it in larger bottles – – like 4 oz or 6 or 8 oz. Or 2 oz but twice as potent. The way you are selling it now is not good for the environment, because of wasting so many bottles, and it’s more work for your bottle filling people. You could put twice the potency in the same size bottle to make it last twice as long, or you could produce 4, 6, and/or 8 oz sizes to accommodate customers who need more. Thank you. It would actually be appreciated if you could email me with your response.
Ashok (verified owner) –
The dosage direction on the bottle is conflicting with the dosage direction on the website and the accompanying flyer. Also, the dropper doesnt work properly making the dosage intake in accurate.
Overall, i would prefer to stick to the tablets. thats the best way to use maca
Taansen Sumeru (verified owner) –
I have asked before, and I will continue asking: Please make it available in the 8 oz. size. Or at the very least, 4 oz. Thank you.

Robin (verified owner) –
It’s exactly what I was looking for, in terms of quick digesting and easy to use away from home! Thx!
Brian (verified owner) –
One of a handful of supplements that has actually brought some of the reported benefits it claims. Definitely great for libido.
Kirk Neal (verified owner) –
Im 65, male. I’ve extensive experience in the filed of Adaptagenics, maca specifically. I was a senior product trainer with many premier supplements/nutraceuticals. I have for many years used maca therapeutically and interacted with many hundreds in its use. This maca extract is the first product I’ve used from The Maca Team. After 1mth use I can, without hesitation say this maca is noticeably improving my vitality. Rare is a supplemental that produces noticeable increase in vitality that is NOT a stimulant or a temporary burst. This is an outstanding maca. The Maca Team is now my new source. I’ll report back after 90 days how well this maca is working to assist my state of homeostasis. At present I can highly recommend this Maca extract as superior should a black maca be your choice. K

This product was a great price for the amount you get. I like that it’s sublingual and doesn’t taste Bad at all. It does help get the soldier downstairs to stand tall

Really convenient, I like this much more than the powder. I will order more of this on my next order.

If possible, have some “ml” markings on the eye drop mechanism so that I will know how much “ml” I have taken per day. Right now, it’s a guess. Thanks.
Hi Kenny – That’s something we’ll ask our bottle supplier. Maybe they have an option. Appreciate the feedback! – The Maca Team
David –
Black maca energizes and helps with my mental focus.
Jesse Skipper (verified owner) –
I am still giving it a 5 stars due to purity, price, and convenience. It did not agree with my system. I normally have the same problem with powder forms whether they or gelatinized or not.
JP (verified owner) –
I started taking black maca drops for libido. i noticed a difference immediately, i started to want a release every single day. highly recommend for anyone who feels sluggish in this regard
Larry (verified owner) –
I have been using all three colors of maca for at least 5 years black is the one works best for maca root I general improves cognitive and increased energy levels and stamina. The best part there is no chemicals involved. I will be using maca for ever I don’t think there are any side effects. The benefits are worth the money.
Dave (verified owner) –
I don’t have experience taking this product so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Maybe I need to consume it on a more consistent basis?

Happy with results after 30 days

Second time ordering and I love this product! It has an acquired taste, yet very tolerable. It sits under my tongue for 30 seconds and is then swallowed. I feel more calm, I’m energized, and I’ve noticed positive changes in my body composition! I’m grateful that I discovered it.

“Indulging in the black maca extract was a revelation for my wellness journey. Its rich, earthy flavor and potent benefits instantly elevated my daily routine. With each serving, I felt a surge of energy and mental clarity, powering me through the day with renewed vigor. This extract isn’t just about a momentary boost; it’s a holistic experience, supporting vitality, stamina, and hormonal balance. Plus, its organic origins ensure purity and authenticity, making it a reliable choice for those seeking natural wellness solutions. Black maca extract has undoubtedly become a staple in my wellness arsenal, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.”

Hello everyone. After decades using & prescribing maca I typically suggest tri-maca as the starter when possible for maca introduction. It typically produces results fast. Maca comes in various colors, each possessing different chemical compounds/phenotypes, each useful to any gender. I believe in balance hence why using tri-maca is where I will typically start someone. After a few months using tri-maca you should experiment with red, black & yellow maca. Read up about maca, its completely safe & easy to use. The Maca Team maca is by far the freshest, most potent & pure maca you can buy outside its growing fields Peru. Buy no where else. it is important to know when you buy other maca brands without knowing what type or quality of maca is in it you cannot predict results in its efficacy on your physiology. Bright Blessings to all, Kirk

Personally & in my nutrition/wellness practice I personally use & recommend black maca extract for men undergoing high levels physical/mental stress due to its extreme ease of use and high absorption rate. Due to its very high potency, purity & ease of carry allows it to be conveniently used thru-out the day and while traveling. Enjoy, Kirk

I love this stuff! It tastes great as well. I’ve been a costumer for about 10 years. The maca team is awesome!
Jeremiah (verified owner) –
I’ve tried gelatinized maca powder in the past with some success, thought I would try the tincture as to avoid consuming the powder. Unfortunately, the tincture has no effect on me and this I cannot give it a good rating. The company provides a good quality maca, but the review is for the product not the company.
From The Maca Team: Hi Jeremiah, thanks for your honesty here. We’ll reach out on email to see if we can help troubleshoot in any way.
Mark (verified owner) –
This is amazing stuff. Helps the body deal with stress, gives greater energy, and pumped up my libido. Completely recommend. I felt a difference the first week, but within two month I got the full effect.
Doug Dorpat (verified owner) –
Excellent product, but the bottle is too small, and 2 oz only lasted one week. It would be perfect if there was a larger, much larger bottle.
Karen (verified owner) –
Both my husband and I have been steadfast customers of The Maca Team. I take red maca to enhance bone density and I take black maca because I am a fitness instructor and lift a lot so I like it for its muscle building properties. What I have been noticing from the black maca in the few months that I started adding it in is that the normal 5 lbs of winter weight hasn’t happened. I have remained lean even though I am eating more food than in the warmer months.
I am also very glad with the customer service. They are super knowledgeable and patient with questions.

I used an ok Maca supplement years ago and for whatever reason got away from it .
Remembering the benefits and wanting to resume I had the great fortune of stumbling upon The Maca Team!
They have provided excellent customer service with regards to orders and shipping and the black Maca extract performs better than any Maca supplement I’ve ever used.
I’m experiencing markedly higher output in all workouts, cardio, weights , swims while perceived level of exertion is noticeably less.
Body composition is changing too.
Definitely getting leaner.
I mix BME drops in morning coffee with coconut and small dab of butter.
I cannot taste it at all.
I have to think from my experience they are sourcing the best Maca available.
Thanks so much Maca Team!

I get a nice, subtle, long-lasting energy boost from this stuff. It’s not like a caffeine energy, which can sometimes feel jittery or overwhelming. It’s a smooth warmth that provides stamina, NOT a kick into crisis mode.
Steven (verified owner) –
i am happy of the results of this extract, being a 56 yr old male it has boosted my overall vitality and drive, I’m a true fan!
Apoorva Trivedi (verified owner) –
Consistency in Taste,Efficacy & viscosity has always been trademark of ‘The Maca team’.
Superior quality of products at affordable pricing.
However I was a little disappointed on this purchase.
It doesn’t match in Taste & potency compared to my earlier purchases.
From The Maca Team: Thanks for pointing this out. There was a slight change in processing that we think caused some consistency issues. They have now been addressed and the new batch of Black Maca Extract is as expected.
Lisa (verified owner) –
Loving the product! No bitter taste and easy to take. Looking forward to my next purchase!
Kyle on behalf of Jerry (verified owner) –
I bought this for my husband because I love the powder Maca. He says it taste great, but he doesn’t feel a difference in things promised in the description. We will definitely try the powder and see if it is the same.
Richard Castrati (verified owner) –
Good product and has helped me with fighting fatigue and raised concentration levels I will order it again when the time comes.
Joseph DeMichele –
I’ve been using the tri-color and black maca extracts for about a month, taking one dropper of each once each morning in carrot juice. So far, I haven’t noticed any added jitteriness. I may have noticed an increase in libido, but I also take boron, so I can’t say whether maca is responsible. I’m still evaluating my experience and may update this review once I’ve used the products longer. This is an early rating and I may update.
